Soon after the death of the insured person, the family members of the deceased should intimate the insurer in writing about the incident, this is known as claim intimation.

Then the insurers would issue claim form, discharge voucher and  other relevant forms depending upon case to case. The same need to be filled in and resubmitted with the insurer along with relevant documents like:

1. Original Policy Bond

2. Death Certificate

3. Proof of relationship with the decesead person

In case of Accidental Death

Postmortern Report,  FIR Copy , Final Police Report is also required

    Hello,

    I need you help.

I’m writing a screenplay about Charlotte Blair (24 yrs), a female insurer. She’s newly hired and her job is to assist Mrs. Clementine (56 yrs), a senior insurer who’s in charge of all death claims involved in car accidents. Now, what’s the title of Mrs. Clementine? And that of Charlotte?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Much Obliged,

    DG

    Hi,

Could you please clarify if the insurance company would pay the death claim in case the the life assured died in an accident (he/she was driving) and his/her driving licence had expired about a month ago?

    Thanks in advance
    Jaswinder Singh

Do we need to submit the attested copies of PMR, FIR and Final police report, or the agent from LIC will do the enquiry and get it. Kindly confirm this.

    Sir,
In case of an accidental death, Postmortem report, FIr copy, Final Police Report are asked to be attested..But by whome??? Our agent sometimes says should be by a gazetted officer then some times says should be by any civil police, then some times says should be only by the SHO of the report issuing police station and the whole report combines of 30 pages and in total he requires 3 sets of report, for three different policies, that combines to be 100 pages of attestation..is this so?? i am not sure what to do.

Thanks for the unique tips provided on this site. I have seen that many insurance carriers offer prospects generous special discounts if they prefer to insure a few cars with them. A significant amount of households currently have several vehicles these days, specifically those with elderly teenage children still residing at home, as well as the savings with policies can certainly soon begin. So it will pay to look for a bargain.
