CLAIM REPUDIATED ON GROUND OF PRE EXISTING DISEASE

   HELLO EVERYONE
   My claim was rejected by the insurance co. on the qround of pre existing disease,i was operated for stone in kidney,i was never operated prior to this operation,prior to this operation about one and half year prior,there was pain in my stomach/abdoman at that time dr. opined that it may be kidney stone pain,but later on i never feel pain and every thing was going ok,this fact was disclosed by me at the time of check up before undergoing this operation and this fact was mentioned by the dr. as previous history and insurer rejected my claim on this sole ground,plz advice

   Hi,

   one of my friend had similar issue. He signed -up at claims councelling section and was happy with the assistance he got.

   If such was the scenario you should have disclosed the same to the insurance company when buying the health insurance policy. Now since the health insurance company is considering it pre-existing the expenses will not be covered since pre-existing diseases are covered after 4-5 years of continuous coverage with the insurance provider. Nevertheless I personally suggest you to have a word with your health insurance provider about the same.

   I have a health insurance policy from Max Bupa Health Insurance Company. When buying the policy I made sure that I disclose everything related to my health and my medical history to my health insurance provider so to avoid any such conflicts during a claim.

   each policy covers the pre-existing disease after the waiting period, which may vary from insurer to insurer.
