IRDA has introduced TPA (Third Party Administrator) for fast and quick settlement of Insurance claims.

TPA as a third party facilitates claim settlement only based upon the policy terms and conditions. Presently, TPAs are catering more for Mediclaim cases.

Note, TPA make tie-ups with hospitals. And get themselves empanelled with insurers, who allots TPAs mediclaim policies to be serviced by them. In simple words, TPAs are fixed by insurance companies and not chosen by individuals.

Also insurers like Bajaj, ICICI are offering Cashless services directly without the help of TPAs.

Hence important is to choose an experienced insurer and the plan they are offering. Rest will automatically work.

Regarding Insurance cos - ICICI, TATA, STAR Health, Appollo DKV, Future Genrila, National,United India, New India and OICL are few names which you can try at your end.

Today most health insurance providers have tie-ups with large number of quality hospitals. However, if one is to take my opinion with regards to hospital tie-ups and services, I would suggest Max Bupa which has an extremely large and impressive list of network hospitals all across India.

Max Bupa health Insurance offers cashless facility to its customers in these network hospitals without any third party (TPA) interference. You can also try their Network Hospital Tool in order to search for hospitals which fall under their network list and are closest to you. I hope the information shared proves useful to you.
