Pre and Post Hospitalization expenses

   There are two categories regarding hospitalization expenses - pre and post. What exactly is covered in these expenses and what do most health insurance plans cover under these categories?

   Pre-hospitalization expenses is refered to expenses incurred before hospitalization period.

   Post-hospitalization expenses is refered to expenses incurred after hospitalization period.

   under Pre and post period relevant medical expenses are covered. These expenses should be part of the treatment for the hospitalizated illness. Expenses generally considered under these heads are:

   1. Doctors fee,
   2. Medicine,
   3. Pathological & Diagnostic Test,
   4. Clinical findings etc.

   It is not easy to afford hospital expenses by everyone. Health insurance provider doesn’t let you worry about this and help you to offer pre and post hospitalization expenses. More expenses include doctor consultation fee, treatment expenses, medicines expenses, expenses of some tests like CT scan, X-ray, blood test etc. You can avail medical expenses incurred due to Illness up to 30 days period immediately before you get admitted to a hospital and 60 days immediately after you get discharged from a Hospital.
